This was very helpful 👍 thank you 🙏. I’m using an iMovie 11 on my MacBook Pro, but want to put a picture as my logo in the bottom left or right corner of the video. The logo has a black background. Is there a way to get rid of the background to show only the logo.

with the alpha matte thing, what do you do when your shape layer has multiple shape in it. because the alpha matte is only taking one of the shape into account and now the whole layer. It's driving me insane.

the key here is that the picture must be selected in the timeline window - the lower window. only once you have done that, the menu at the top of the "preview" window (upper right corner) will give you the options FIT, CROP TO FILL, KEN BURNS. This applies to the lates iMovie version

Hello! Can I make a mask for a 3D shape or solid layer? I try to do that, but the holes that the masks make then are not represented in the 3D view (or dissapear when I extrude it). What is wrong with this process? Is there a solution for this?

I screen recorded a power point presentation while I narrated and then imported it into iMovie and edited it. When I export it the top and bottom of the movie are cut off. I assume its because I recorded a power point. Is there anyway to export it so that the entire movie is visible? Thanks!!!
